A welcome message from Simon Murray

Welcome to UWC Maastricht (UWCM). As one of the nine Dutch International Secondary Schools, it is one of UWCM's particular strengths that it can accommodate diverse needs, abilities and cultures and serve them all very well. Originally founded in 1984 as a small section of a state school, UWCM now provides high quality international education in Maastricht for over 600 pupils aged 3 to 18 years of age. We hope that the information on this site is of use and that it gives you a feel for what is a happy, vibrant and purposeful community of learners.

The UWCM Secondary school offers an international curriculum to students aged between 11 and 18/19. The language of instruction is English. Dutch lessons at beginner, intermediate or 1st language level are mandatory for students 11 - 16, with the aim of encouraging integration into the local community. There is an English speaking Guidance Counsellor available in school and the UWCM runs the Learning Assistance Programme for those students who require support.

The secondary school is situated in a new building, which it shares with a Dutch secondary school. The facilities include: modern classrooms, science labs, fully equipped music and art rooms, a computer lab, an IT equipped study centre, 2 gyms, one with a climbing wall, and a canteen.
